Thesis: Network characterization for multimedia communications
In the context of an ongoing research project, we are looking for a master thesis student with strong interests in working on characterizing the performance of network devices to optimally support audio/video communication system over LAN. Part of the hardware/software infrastructure is already available as the result of previous research activities. The thesis work could also include an analysis of possible novel frameworks for resource brokering in multimedia systems (e.g., the Data Distribution Service, DDS).

Nell’ambito di un progetto di ricerca in corso, si ricerca uno studente fortemente interessato a caratterizzare le performance di dispositivit di rete per supportare in maniera ottimale comunicazioni audio/video su LAN. Parte della infrastruttura software/hardware è già disponibile come risultato di attività precedenti di ricerca. La tesi potrebbe anche includere un’analisi di possibili nuovi frameworks per la gestione di risorse in sistemi multimediali (per es. il Data Distribution Service, DDS).
