PhD course “Multimedia Communications” starts in Feb 2017

The PhD course “Multimedia Communications: Technological Advances and Social Implications” is scheduled to start on Feb 3, 2017. All PhD students can participate (including “XXXII ciclo” that started Nov 1, 2016). Three members of our research group (Enrico Masala, Antonio Servetti, Juan Carlos De Martin) will cover all the course topics, as better specified in the course webpage.

New research work on educational platforms

Recently, Leonardo presented the work “Seamless Cross-Platform Integration of Educational Resources for Improved Learning Experiences” at the IEEE Frontiers in Education (FIE) 2015, El Paso, Texas, in October 2015. Also, a new paper has been accepted at IEEE EDUCON 2016, titled “Integrating a Remote Laboratory System in an Online Learning Environment”, that will be presented in April 2016 in Abu Dhabi. icme2015_miniMonday, Jun 29, 2015 and Thu Jul 2, 2015, in Torino, Italy, Enrico Masala will present two works at the IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo which will be held from Jun 29 to Jul 3, 2015, for the first time in Italy and in Torino.

Summary
Il seminario intende fornire una panoramica introduttiva alla sintesi del segnale audio in tempo reale e alla composizione/improvvisazione con il calcolatore per applicazioni musicali. A tal fine verrà presentato l’ambiente open source SuperCollider.

Biography
Ricercatore dell’Università di Torino presso il CIRMA (Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca sulla Multimedialità e l’Audiovisivo) il prof. Andrea Valle insegna “Audiovisione e Multimedialità” per i corsi di laurea del DAMS (Department of Fine Arts, Music and Performing Arts).
Valle è autore di alcuni libri tra cui ricordiamo:
